2026 Beijing Culture Forum Opens, Bringing Global Cultural Voices Together

2026 Beijing Culture Forum

The 2026 Beijing Culture Forum, held jointly by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality, was officially opened on September 22 in Beijing.

The theme of the Beijing Culture Forum is “Inheritance, Creativity, Mutual Learning”, which has become its permanent theme. The forum for this year will be on “Cultural Heritage and Mutual Learning among Civilisations”. The forum will be held at the national, international, and academic levels, featuring speeches and discussions from high-level experts from across the globe, which will further strengthen international cooperation and foster a global consensus. It will provide an important window to Chinese culture, a platform to push forward the Global Civilisation Initiative and a channel to strengthen international cultural exchanges and cooperation.

This year’s forum is composed of the forum, five parallel forums, six special salons, and regular events held in the Beijing Culture Forum Guest Hall. The speeches were delivered by some distinguished guests in the main forum during the afternoon of 22nd September. Several significant milestones were revealed at the key outcomes release session, such as the Deepening Mutual Learning Among Civilisations and Highlighting Civilizational Markers: 2025 Report on Cultural Exchanges Between China and Foreign Countries, as well as project signing ceremonies taking place on location.

On September 23, the “Systematic Protection of Cultural Heritage” parallel forum, the “International Cooperation in Cultural Heritage Protection” parallel forum, the “Protection of Ancient Capitals amid Urbanization” parallel forum, the “Cultural Heritage and Literary and Artistic Creation” parallel forum, and the “Cultural Heritage Protection, Inheritance and Youth Participation” parallel forum will be held, along with the Cultural Industry Investors Conference and six professional salons on “The Knowledge System of Cultural Heritage Studies”, “Tracing the Origins of Civilization and Xiliao River Culture”, “Protection of Traditional Villages and Traditional Buildings”, “The Contemporary Value of Cultural Heritage”, “Integrated Protection of Urban Heritage”, and “Cultural Exchange Between the Sanxingdui-Jinsha Sites and Surrounding Areas”.
