Recently, the PLA Naval Aviation University in China held a live-fire combat training exercise for pilot cadets of the J-15 carrier-based fighter jet. The drill was intended to mimic conditions on the battlefield and to help build the readiness of future naval aviators.
As part of the exercise, cadets conducted a variety of combat-related activities, such as low-level flight operations and precision firing. The training was designed to enhance their ground attack proficiency and improve their target identification, quick response, and coordination with the ground in the process.
The exercise is part of a series of measures to boost the combat readiness and skill in practical combat of the carrier-based aviation personnel, officials said. The J-15 fighter jet is an integral part of China’s aircraft carrier fleet, contributing to the country’s naval air defence and maritime strike capabilities.
