On the 2nd and through the night of the 3rd June 2026, the Ukrainian Defense Forces conducted a series of well coordinated action in the active occupation zones and against key industrial and military facilities of the Russian Federation.
A big strike in the north-west of Russia caused a serious fire at the oil terminal in Saint Petersburg. It is a very important transshipment port in the Baltic Sea, with a 10 million-ton per year capacity, which is important for Russian military logistics. In addition, officials are actively searching for damage to ships and infrastructure at the nearby port of Kronstadt.
Inland, Ukrainian troops managed to hit the plant “Progress” in Michurinsk, Tambov Oblast. The installation, which is said to make navigation and stabilization parts for aircraft, drones and high precision missiles, reportedly caught fire after the bombardment.
Other key energy hot spots were also hard hit. The main processing units and storage tanks of the Ilsky oil refinery were largely damaged in the Krasnodar Krai. At the same time, the Zenzivatka oil pumping station in the Volgograd region was severely damaged and its work was completely suspended on June 2.
Expanding the Offensive in Occupied Territories
The military action included a significant incursion into the occupied areas and was, in this instance, a precision strike against a short-range aviation radio navigation system at the Saky Air Base, near Novofedorivka in Crimea, which Ukrainian authorities confirmed.
There was also heavy targeting of the infrastructure on the eastern and southern fronts. In the Donetsk area, the enemy has destroyed an important ammunition and drone storage complex near Halytsynivka and a command post in Selydove. A fuel and lubricants depot in Bilolutsk in the Luhansk region was successfully hit.
These latest strikes come after a very deadly attack was carried out on May 30. In the course of that attack, Ukrainian troops struck a Russian training ground in the occupied Zaporizhzhia region, inflicting damage on the Russians’ troop shelters and reportedly killing thirty Russian soldiers.
