Troops of the Operation Fansan Yamma have rescued 14 kidnapped victims in Sabuwa Local Government Area of Katsina State after a swift and fighting response by the operatives against terrorists attack in the area on 18th August. 

On 18 August 2026, the troops of Sector 2 OPF responded to credible information of the movement of terrorists in Madaci Forest in Sabuwa LGA, with kidnapped victims in tow.

The troops were immediately mobilised to the area, and they came into contact with the terrorists, engaged them and made them flee the area and leave their captives in the bushes.

The area was swept, and after the operation, 14 victims were rescued (6 males and 8 females).

According to the preliminary information, the victims were those abducted from various places in Dandume, Bakori and Funtua general areas of Katsina State.

The rescued victims were then passed on to the relevant local authorities for taking the action required and reuniting with their families.

The rescue highlights the swift response and quick action of Operation Fansan Yamma troops to protect lives and stop the terrorists from carrying out criminal activities in the Joint Operations Area.

The Theatre Command has reiterated to the public its commitment to keep the pressure on the terrorists and increase operations to protect communities in the North West.
