Thailand Unveils 76 Cultural Events Under ‘Unseen Thai’ Initiative

The Ministry of Culture was actively moving forward on the implementation of its “Unseen Thai Thai” policy with concrete measures, said Minister of Culture Sabeeda Thaised on Thursday (July 23, 2026).

The program is designed to discover, vet and develop cultural capital, which is authentic to Thailand.

It covers cultural tourism sites, festivals and traditions, lifestyles and local wisdom of all 76 provinces.

Its purpose is to promote awareness of the cultural values of the Thai people and show them in current situations.

It also aims to build on cultural capital through the creative economy under the concept “ROOT to RICH: From Cultural Roots to Economic Value”.

The policy is about value addition, ensuring community income flows, strengthening the grassroots economy, and supporting sustainable conservation of cultural heritage.

The development’s key goals are to improve cultural capital and local wisdom by fostering the creative economy and to develop cultural tourism.

It also aims to increase public awareness of Thai cultural values on national and international levels and to unite all parties within the public sector, private sector and cultural networks to collaborate on the same cause.

The Ministry cooperated with provincial authorities for a two-tier screening process.

The provincial process was headed by each provincial governor.

It was chaired at the ministry level by the chief inspector-general of the ministry.
