The ceremony of changing the national flag was held in preparation for the joint “Heydar Aliyev – 2026” that will be held in Kars, Turkiye, Azerbaijan, in accordance with the military cooperation agreement signed between Azerbaijan and Turkiye, the Azerbaijan Ministry of Defence announced to APA.
The march of the flag platoon, leaving the headquarters of the Combined Arms Army, started out of the city of Nakhchivan, the border crossing point of the Sadarak, and the Umid Bridge across the Araz River. At the same time, the platoon of Turskiye started its march out of the city of Kars towards the place where the ceremony was to be held.
After the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Independence March of the Republic of Türkiye, a flag change ceremony took place at the Umid Bridge.
Later on, at an event that was held to commemorate the sending of personnel and military equipment to the training site, the Commander of the Combined Arms Army, Lieutenant General Kanan Seyidov, made a speech, emphasising the importance of the joint military exercise and wishing the participants a successful one.
After the exercise, the units assigned to take part in the exercise left the city of Nakhchivan.
It is necessary to note that the aim of the exercise is to plan and conduct joint operations according to the principles of modern war, provide successful interoperability, exchange experience in comprehensive combat support, and increase the level of knowledge and skills of the personnel.
Based on the exercise plan, combat operations in different conditions and performance of special tasks will be carried out.
The troops of the Combined Arms Army paid a visit to Türkiye, according to APA reports referring to the press service of the Turkish Ministry of National Defence.
As stated, the units will take part in the exercises Heydar Aliyev-2026 that will be organised within the framework of the 14th Mechanised Infantry Brigade.
It is announced that the officers of the 5th Border Brigade of Türkiye greeted the Azerbaijani servicemen at the Hasret Bridge, and a flag parade was held.
