The visit of Russian president Vladimir Putin in Bishkek has come to light as he arrived today to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit. It also marks the start of diplomatic level meetings that have been prepared by the Russian and Central Asian authorities.

The summit is taking place in Yrys Ordo Congress Hall where the Kyrgyz Republic ensured the presence of its national flags before the summit and the armed forces of the Kyrgyz Republic lined up in salute.

As the summit kicked off, the participants have heard trumpeting being played to welcome the Russian president. Upon his arrival he was received by the President of Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov thus marking the start of the official geopolitical negotiations.
