The Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, IGNCA, in New Delhi, on 23rd June organised an exhibition which highlighted the rich cultural heritage of the North-East region of India through traditional household utensils.

Living Heritage in Metal, Bamboo and Clay: Traditional Utensils of Northeast India showcased a wide range of handcrafted utensils from natural resources like metal, bamboo and clay.

In a world where more and more household objects are being produced in machines and by machines, the exhibition will seek to honour the artistry, craftsmanship and cultural significance of everyday objects. This exhibition is a co-organisation of the North Eastern Handicrafts and Handlooms Development Corporation with the National Mission on Cultural Mapping. The exhibition is open until 2nd July.
