A bomb threat was received by the Delhi High Court on August 14, which triggered security measures at the court premises a day before Independence Day.

Official sources have said the Registrar General of the Delhi High Court is in talks with Delhi Police for providing assistance and cooperation. The security arrangements are being reviewed, and precautionary drills are being conducted.

Delhi High Court’s Bar Association Joint Secretary Advocate Kunal Malhotra confirmed the situation, adding that the police have already taken all the required steps: “Everything seems under control, and the police are taking all required steps.”

The e-mail bore the title 30 MB Blast at Delhi High Court and gave an exact time for the alleged incident. Authorities are taking the communication seriously and are assessing the credibility of the threat.

Security has been beefed up across Delhi ahead of Independence Day on August 15, as police have been deployed at strategic points of the city and increased security at entry and exit points. Security teams are still on duty to monitor public areas and other locations where there are likely to be more people.

The incident came on the heels of a similar warning issued to the Delhi High Court in September 2025, when the Registrar General received an email warning about the premises of the High Court that led to emergency security measures and checks by agencies.
