In Paris, France, Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan, Dr Adil Karimli, held a meeting with Assistant Director-General for Culture of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), Nayef Al-Fayez.
In the course of the meeting, the officials discussed the issues of cooperation in the protection of cultural heritage, the management of museums, creative industries, cultural diplomacy and international cultural projects. The conversation also touched on cooperation possibilities in UNESCO’s SECURE project and the possibility of implementing this project to protect cultural heritage.
Minister Adil Karimli introduced the delegation of UNESCO to the main directions of Azerbaijan’s cultural policy, the process of cultural reform and cooperation with foreign countries.
The sides considered possibilities of further development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and UNESCO in the sphere of cultural cooperation, implementation of common projects, organisation of joint training programmes, and development of innovative international programs in the field of culture.
The meeting also discussed how to enhance cooperation in areas of mutual interest, highlighting the need to enhance sustainable cultural development and the contribution of culture to reinforcing international solidarity.
