According to the Ministry of Culture, Thailand will be the guest of honor in the 2026 Taipei International Book Exhibition, which will be held on the 3-8 of February at the Taipei World Trade Center in the city.
This will be the third occasion where Thailand will be the themed country of the TIBE after 2009 and 2014.
The Thai pavilion is themed “CreaTHAIvity” and it consists of a literary section, which showcases publications of 37 publishing companies; an illustration section, which showcases works highlighting the identity of Thailand, its historical recollections, and the daily life; and an exhibition section that features 50 publications as a way of highlighting how local culture, and social change influenced the literary landscape of the Southeast Asian nation.
Also, over 10 Thai writers and content creators in various genres will participate in the event to meet the readers and share their experiences, the MOC said. It also added that numerous other events on the unique Thai culture will be conducted.
Other attractions noted by the ministry about this year’s exhibition will be the Czech Republic pavilion, which will show 60 children’s and juvenile books published during the last 10 years, and Belgium will feature its strength in comics. MOC added that other countries that have their own pavilions include France, Germany, India, Italy, and Hong Kong.
Taipei Book Fair Foundation, a subsidiary of the MOC, organized the first edition of the event in 1987, and it is the most important event of its kind in Asia, and the largest in the world, along with the Frankfurt Book Fair, Bologna Children’s Book Fair, and Book Expo America.
