Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister – Culture and Information Minister Aida Balayeva stated that the Zharkent Mosque and Ascension Cathedral were going to be nominated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Jibek Joly TV Channel is quoted by the Qazinform News Agency.

Based on the tasks of the Kazakh President, the Zharket Mosque, Ascension Cathedral, and petroglyphs of the Karatau Ridge will be proposed to be included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

In addition, some effort is being made to get The Book of Words by Abai on the UNESCO List of documentary heritage.

At the V Ulttyq Qurultay in Kyzylorda, the President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev requested that the book of Words by Abai be included in the UNESCO Memory of the World Register of documentary heritage.
