The famous musical, after completing its 30th run, has announced their next stop in Ecuador for a special show next year. The guest country for the upcoming season was announced after the wrap up of the season organized by the Cartagena City Council, and is already preparing its next edition, which will be held from July 17 to 25, 2026.
“For more than three decades, La Mar de Músicas has built bridges between cultures, breaking down barriers and prejudices through the transformative power of culture. A public festival, an example of multiculturalism, that believes in coexistence, respect for diversity, and dialogue between peoples,” stated the Mayor of Cartagena. He also mentions how Ecuador responds to the desire to highlight and recognize a community with a strong presence in our country and, in a very special way, in our city, Cartagena.

Wilma Andrade, Ecuador’s ambassador to Spain shared her thoughts on being honoured for being chosen to be the guest country and said, “Over the next year, Cartagena will prepare to welcome our music, film, literature, and contemporary art. It will be a unique opportunity to show the world the richness of our culture, our creativity, and our identity. From the Embassy of Ecuador in Spain, we will continue working diligently alongside the Cartagena City Council and the festival organizers to make this 2026 edition unforgettable”, reports Cadenaser.
The Ecuador festival will focus on the Andean country’s traditional and contemporary music, as well as its cinema, literature, thought, art, and gastronomy.
