“When ICE agents move in to make an arrest, it is extremely important that the public not interfere, the misinformation, and sometimes blatant lies, being spread around the country could result in someone stepping into a federal operation and suddenly finding themselves face-to-face with a killer who has nothing to lose”, said ICE acting Director Todd M. Lyons, official reports read.
Both were arrested without incident during a targeted enforcement operation. Officials confirmed that both posed significant threats to public safety.
ICE Acting Director Todd M. Lyons emphasized the importance of not interfering with federal operations, warning that misinformation could endanger the public. HSI Kansas City Special Agent in Charge Mark Zito stated the fugitives’ intent to hide in the U.S. heartland had failed. The investigation remains ongoing.
