Telangana tourism set the stage for the celebration of the state’s festive mood by opening curtains for the Bathukamma festivities at the Travel and Tourism Fair (TTF) Hyderabad 2025 on Friday. The nine-day flower festival, observed from Sept 21 to 30, has kick-started at the Thousand Pillar Temple at Warangal.
This year’s celebrations will be even larger in scale, Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao having announced that the celebrations will be held on the lines of the Rio Carnival to bring in international tourists. One special attraction will be the floating Bathukamma on Hussainsagar, which will pull in humongous crowds.
Addressing the launch, Rao stated the festival represents the essence of the Mother Goddess and has developed into one of the globe’s most distinctive celebrations. “From Hyderabad’s technological brilliance to Warangal’s ageless heritage, Telangana has a treasure house of experiences that we’d love to share with the world,” he said.
The growing profile of Hyderabad as a tourist destination was also emphasized. With Rajiv Gandhi International Airport leading outbound tourism and the cultural-business blend of the city fueling expansion, Telangana is emerging as a major player in the Indian tourism scene.
TTF Hyderabad 2025 attracted over 150 exhibitors from five nations and 10 Indian states, and 4,000 travel trade professionals. Gazanfar Ibrahim, MD and CMO, Fairfest Media, said bookings have gone digital, but travellers continue to look for personal interaction while planning travels. “Tourism is not only about business; it brings integration, people-to-people exchange, and solutions to lots of problems that we have today,” he said.
With Bathukamma’s international exposure, Telangana tourism is staking its future on culture both as a bridge and a growth engine.
