In a recent announcement, the Donald Trump administration suspended visitor visas for Gazans. This update is making global headlines and comes just a day after a series of social media posts by Laura Loomer.
France24 has noted in one of its articles that Loomer is prominent for promoting racist conspiracy theories and claiming that the 9/11 terrorist attacks are an inside job. The US State Department, led by Marco Rubio, posted about the announcement on X.
The post read that all visitor visas for people from Gaza are being stopped as authorities conduct a full and through analysis of the process and procedures used to issue a small number of temporary medical-humanitarian visas in recent days.
Loomer especially targeted US-based charity HEAL Palestine
Just a day before the announcement, Laura Loomer had made a series of posts on X. In one of her posts, she called on the US State Department to stop granting visas to Palestinians from Gaza, highlighting their alleged connections to Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood.
Loomer especially targeted the US-based charity HEAL Palestine. Just earlier this month, this entity reported that it had helped 11 critically injured children from Gaza – and their caretakers and siblings – come to the US safely for medical treatment.
“Truly unacceptable,” Loomer noted, adding that “someone needs to be fired” at the State Department. On the other hand, the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund called on the Trump administration to take back “this dangerous and inhumane decision.”
