Bloodied at Dawn: Security Forces Eliminate 13 Terrorists in KP Operation, Says ISPR

The military media affairs wing announced on 15 th January the killing of 13 terrorists in two different operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to a statement by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operations also occurred on January 13-14, whereby the “Indian proxy Fitna-al-Khawarij” was killed.

The state has given the outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban the name “Fitna-al-Khawarij.”

The ISPR statement indicated that one of the intelligence-based operations was undertaken in the Bannu district of KP on the report of the existence of terrorists.

In the performance of the operation, the own troops successfully attacked and took the khawarij spot, and after an hour-long fire-fight, eight khawarij were taken to hell, it added.

ISPR also said that security forces had also carried out another intelligence-driven operation in the Kurram district of KP.

“Five khawarij were practically neutralised in the resultant fire exchange,” it said.

ISPR also claimed that sanitisation activity was underway to destroy any other kharji sponsored by Indians in the region as the ruthless anti-terror campaign under the sight of [the] vision of “Azm-i-Istehkam” (as approved by federal apex committee on National Action Plan) by security forces and law enforcement agencies of Pakistan will be pursued to the full in eradicating the threat of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism in the country as well.

On Monday, the ISPR said, “four terrorists were killed by security forces in a premeditated move in the Kalat district of Baluchistan.”

These activities are occurring when Pakistan is still struggling with the problem of terrorism.

In the year 2025, although the number of militant deaths was at its lowest, Pakistan experienced soaring militant violence, where the number of terrorist attacks and deaths attributed to terrorism increased by 34 and 21 per cent, respectively, according to a report published by the Islamabad-based Pak Institute of Peace Studies.

In a press conference last week, the Director General (DG) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry disclosed that 75,175 IBOs were conducted by the law enforcement agencies of Pakistan in 2025, such as the army, the police, the Federal Constabulary, and the intelligence agencies.

In its disaggregation, he reported that 14,658 were done in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 58,778 in Baluchistan, and 1,739 in other parts of Pakistan.

He further estimated that 5,397 terror incidents occurred in Pakistan in 2025, with 3,811 in KP (71pc), 1,557 in Balochistan (29pc), and 29 in other regions.
