Saint Clare’s Health, a member of Prime Healthcare, is among the 2026 Lown Hospitals Index Honour Roll, a group of the nation’s most socially responsible hospitals. A mere 160 out of more than 3,600 hospitals in the U.S. made the cut, with top scores on indicators of health equity, value, and patient outcomes.
Saint Clare’s Health was ranked 4th in New Jersey and Top 5 in New Jersey for Social Responsibility, Top 5 in New Jersey for Avoiding Overuse, and Top 3% nationally for Value of Care. The health system earned an overall “A” grade in Social Responsibility and received an “A” grade in Health Equity, Value of Care, Patient Outcomes, Clinical Outcomes, Community Benefit, Inclusivity, Avoiding Overuse and Cost Efficiency, demonstrating its dedication to providing outstanding, equitable, and patient-centred care.
The Lown Hospitals Index for Social Responsibility is the first national ranking to measure the social responsibility of hospitals—including health equity, value of care, and patient outcomes. Beyond traditional metrics like clinical outcomes and patient safety, the Index evaluates the quality of care in terms of its equity, community investment and high value. The overall score for each hospital is over 50 metrics.
Overall, the recognition reflects Saint Clare’s Health’s dedication to providing high-quality care, excellent value, and a positive experience for the communities it serves, and is a testament to the hospital’s performance.

Saint Clare’s Health continues to receive a string of national awards for quality, patient safety and clinical excellence, with the inclusion of a place on the Lown Hospitals Index. Saint Clare’s Health also boasts awards including US News Best Hospitals for Maternity Care; a Leapfrog “A” Grade for Spring of 2026; Healthgrades distinctions including Treatment of Diabetic Emergencies, Hip Fracture Treatment, America’s 50 Best Outpatient Prostate Care, and America’s 100 Best for Prostate Surgery; the American Heart Association Get With The Guidelines distinctions for Atrial Fibrillation, Coronary Artery Disease, Heart Failure, Stroke, Type 2 Diabetes, and the Commitment to Quality Award; and ACEP accreditation for Geriatric Emergency Departments.
