Security forces have thwarted a big terrorist conspiracy in Balochistan with the recovery of a huge quantity of explosives and weapons in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Panjgur, and in another operation, killed two banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) terrorists in Khuzdar, officials said.

The two intelligence-driven operations took place as part of a campaign to destroy militant infrastructure, defuse civilian threats, and stop terrorist activities throughout the province.

A huge arsenal of modern arms and ammunition and explosives, which are suspected to have been kept for future terrorist incidents, was recovered during the operation in the Prom area of Panjgur district.

Five Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), six rocket launcher shells, three hand grenades, detonating cord, 1,000 rounds of Light Machine Gun (LMG) ammunition, 400 rounds of sniper rifle ammunition and three Under Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL) shells were recovered.

Officials say the weapons and explosives retrieved were meant for attacks on innocent civilians and other terrorism.

In another intelligence-based campaign in the Zehri area of Khuzdar district, two high-value FAH terrorists were eliminated. Authorities also seized modern weapons, explosives and other terrorist gear from their hands.

Security forces have started clearance and search operations in the area to look for and neutralise possible terrorist elements remaining there.

The new manoeuvres illustrate the success of intelligence-led counter-terrorism measures to thwart the capacity of terrorist groups to regroup, plan attacks or target local communities, officials said.

Security forces again confirmed that anti-terrorist operations in Balochistan will be continued till the complete elimination of terrorist networks and bringing enduring peace and stability in the province.
