During a visit, a working session was held at the official level with Lazare Eloundou Assomo, UNESCO’s Acting Deputy Director General for Culture – Director of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre.
The meeting was particularly significant with respect to the preservation, research and promotion of the cultural and natural heritage of the Turkic World on the international level as well as the development of cooperation among the member states of UNESCO through the international conventions.
As part of the discussions, Professor Aktoty Raimkulova presented several strategic proposals to UNESCO to raise the level of cooperation to a qualitatively new one. The planned activities included exchange of knowledge, institutional cooperation development, and use of digital technologies in the field of cultural heritage protection.
Lazare Eloundou Assomo was pleased with the contribution of Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation in the preservation of world heritage and its active involvement in the achievement of the goals of international conventions in practice. He was also interested in providing support and further strengthening the initiatives presented at the meeting.
The meeting ended with a consensus on the need to strengthen the strategic partnership for the protection and transmission of the common cultural heritage to the next generations.
