On April 22 at night, Ukrainian Defense Forces conducted multiple coordinated attacks which struck Russian military sites and their critical infrastructure across Russia and occupied areas.
Coordinated Strikes on Strategic Naval and Drone Command Centers
The General Staff reported that the overnight operation mainly targeted the “Strelets” command post which exists in Sevastopol. The facility operates as an essential linking point which Russian Black Sea Fleet command uses to manage their military ship operations throughout the zone they control in Crimea.
Ukraine successfully executed attacks on multiple drone operational hubs beyond their naval command center. The strikes targeted facilities located in the Russian regions of Kursk which included Korovyakovka and Tyotkino and the “Molniya” drone command post situated near Dobrolyubivka in the Kharkiv region.
The operation included activities which reached all parts of the country from its borders to frontline combat areas. The Ukrainian forces launched an attack on a Russian unit command post situated near Vyazovoe in the Belgorod region along with their command-observation points which existed throughout Belgorod and the areas of occupied Donetsk. The attacking forces specifically targeted enemy troops who gathered in the Grafskoye area of Donetsk during their widespread assaults.
Russian Defense Claims and the Broader Strategic Impact
The Russian Ministry of Defense has not provided official information about the specific attacks which Ukrainian officials are currently estimating. The Russian military reported that its defense systems had successfully shot down 155 Ukrainian drones which were flying over 12 areas that included the Black Sea and Crimea.
The strikes follow reports from Sevastopol authorities regarding an attack on the evening of April 21. Local monitoring groups confirmed these reports when they documented significant explosions which occurred throughout the city.
The recent operations Ukrainian forces conduct serve their approach to diminish Russian military strength through targeted attacks. Ukrainian forces want to achieve two goals which they will accomplish by attacking command posts and naval assets and military bases.
