Mallam Fatori Attack Foiled: Security Forces Eliminate 60+ Terrorists in Major Counterstrike

The Operation HADIN KAI troops have successfully repelled a coordinated infiltration of the Mallam Fatori, within the Abadam Local Government Area of Borno, by the ISWAP terrorists and killed at least 60 terrorists.

In an operational report released by the military to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday, the military noted that the terrorists attacked the 68 Battalion, Mobile Defence Area, on 17th March.

It reported that the attack had started at Duguri General Area, attacking the front of Bravo Company, and that the terrorists were on foot, armed by drones.

The report states that the Joint Task Force (JTF), together with air assets, promptly countered the drones and drove the terrorists back in disarray towards the Arege General Area.

“Preliminary reports show more than 60 terrorists were killed in the operation, with four soldiers having minor injuries.”

According to the military, follow-up intelligence and follow-up of the terrorist activities is underway and six suspected terrorist groups have been spotted heading to Arege.

It added that exploitation of the area will consolidate gains and avoid further attacks.

One of the video clips issued by the JTF highlights the consequences of the airstrike, highlighting how well-equipped and accurate the troops in the North East are.

The JTF once again expressed its desire to defend civilians and continue putting pressure on terror groups in Borno and other neighbouring states.
