A car that was driven into the building of Temple Israel, a synagogue in which a school is located, in West Bloomfield Township, Michigan, is the site of an active shooter, multiple sources in the federal law enforcement told CNN.

“We know that there is an ongoing security incident at Temple Israel. Law enforcement is acting. Our agencies are today in precautionary lockdown. We urge community members to keep out of the area now,” said the Jewish Federation of Detroit in a social media post.

Early Childhood Centre at Temple Israel is a kindergarten, preschool, and daycare centre.

The school incident led Bloomfield Hills Schools to enter the secured mode, the Bloomfield Township Police Department reported on a social networking feed.
