Japan External Trade Organisation, or JETRO, has organised an event to popularise Japanese pop culture in Cairo, the Egyptian capital.
The two-day Friday-based (6th Feb) event is aimed at presenting the Japanese anime, manga, etc., to the youthful population of Africa, which is rapidly increasing in number, and enabling the participating Japanese firms to experience the broad market potential of Africa.
JETRO had never hosted a pop culture-oriented event before.
It hosted 16 Japanese firms and institutions, such as the entertainment business, Bandai Namco Holdings Inc., and musical instrument manufacturer, Yamaha Corp.
The event will bring approximately 3,000 people.
