Israel to Receive Vehicles and Apache Helicopters in New US Deals

The US State Department has approved possible military sales to Israel worth more than $6.5 billion, according to the Pentagon.

The deals include three separate contracts. One agreement, worth about $1.98 billion, is for Joint Light Tactical Vehicles and related equipment. Another deal, valued at $3.8 billion, covers the sale of AH-64E Apache helicopters.

A third contract, worth $740 million, will provide power systems and support equipment for Namer armored personnel carriers.

AM General will supply the tactical vehicles. Boeing and Lockheed Martin will handle the Apache helicopter deal.
